A look into 1st half of year 2009 – Girls Generation and Super Junior reined

Even though the meaning to album sales has began to take a smaller part to the releasing a new album, but in anyway it is still important to a singer in terms of the value of the music and the singer’s success.

So who has the best album sales in the Kpop realm for the 1st half of year 2009? We follow Hanteo chart to find the results tabulated as till 30th May.

And group Super Junior is said to have the highest album sales, with group So Nyeo Shi Dae following behind at #2. We have our Kings and Queens for the 1st half of 2009!

Super Junior had the highest number of album sales for this 1st half of year 2009. They released their 3rd album ‘Sorry Sorry’ in March selling over 100,ooo copies and then they went on to release version C of the album, to breakthrough 200,000 copies sold.

Following behind at #2 is group So Nyeo Shi Dae. They previously released their 1st minialbum ‘Gee’ in January and seeing over 70,000 copies.

1. Super Junior with 200,000 copies sold of ‘Sorry Sorry’
2. So Nyeo Shi Dae with 70,000 copies sold of ‘Gee’
3. Singer Seo Taiji sold 59,000 copies with his 8th album single ‘Seotaiji Atomos Part Secret’.
4. Shin Hye Sung sold a total of 35,000 copies ofhis 3rd album ‘Keep Leaves’
5. Bobby Kim with 34,000 copies sold for his special album.
6. SG Wannabe with 29,000 album sales for 6th album ‘Gift From SG WannaBe’
7. Indie band Jang Gi Ha and the Faces with 29,000 copies sold of their 1st album ‘Living without any special things (별일없이 산다)’
8. Davichi is at #8 with 28,000 copies sold of their minialbum giving hits like ‘8282′ and ‘Get into an accident’
9. Fly To The Sky last 8th album ‘Decennium’ selling 27,000 copies
10. Jo Sung Mo with 23,000 album sales for 7th album ‘Second Half’.

With the first half of 2009 ending, and we have the latter half the year – with many new additions to the competition like 2NE1, HyunA’s group 4Minutes and T-ara’s debuts, Big Bang, Se7en, KARA, So Nyeo Shi Dae and SS501’s comebacks – we have just more to look out for.

‘2NE1..티아라..현아..’ 신예 걸그룹 데뷔 전부터 화제만발

신예 걸그룹들의 기싸움이 대단하다.

‘여자빅뱅’ 2NE1(21,투애니원)이 빅뱅과 함께한 ‘롤리팝’(Lolipop)으로 데뷔 전부터 가요계를 들썩이게 하더니 씨야 멤버로 전격 합류한 지연이 소속된 티아라(T-ara)도 26일 멤버들의 사진을 공개하며 화제를 모으고 있다. 원더걸스 前 멤버 현아가 속한 여성 그룹도 5월 데뷔를 앞둔 상황이라 소녀시대와 원더걸스의 뒤를 잇는 신예 걸그룹들의 경쟁이 벌써부터 ‘후끈’하다.

‘제2의 김태희’ 지연(본명 박지연)으로 화제가 된 신인 그룹 티아라(T-ara)가 멤버 5명 전원의 사진을 첫 공개했다. 티아라는 엠넷미디어에서 지난 3년간 야심차게 준비해 온 5인조 여성 그룹. 가수 이외에도 배우, 탤런트 등 다양한 분야에서 활약할 재능 있는 5명의 신인으로 구성됐다.

5명의 멤버 중 지연은 씨야, 다비치와 함께 디지털 싱글 ‘여성시대’ ‘영원한 사랑’을 발표해 가장 먼저 얼굴을 공개했다. 이후 각종 검색어 순위 1위를 차지하며 큰 화제를 모았다.

티아라는 데뷔 전 MBC 수목드라마 ‘신데렐라맨’ OST에 ‘좋은 사람’(ver.1)으로 참여해 단 한 번의 방송 출연 없이도 온라인상에서 좋은 반응을 얻고 있다. 26일 뮤직비디오를 촬영을 시작으로 본격 활동에 들어간다.

공개된 총 19장의 사진을 통해 티아라는 지연, 은정, 효민, 지원, 지애 등 멤버 5명 전원의 순수하면서도 상큼 발랄한 이미지를 선보였다.

2NE1은 빅뱅 소속사인 YG엔터테인먼트에서 4년에 걸쳐 준비한 여성 4인조 신인그룹. 21에 관한 소식이 전해질 때마다 실시간 검색순위 1위를 차지할 만큼 네티즌들에게 관심을 받아온 2009년 기대주다.

필리핀에서 인기를 얻은 ‘산다라 박’, 이효리와 함께 광고를 찍어 화제가 되었던 ‘박 봄’, 공옥진 여사의 손녀인 ‘공민지’, 4개 국어 구사와 노래와, 랩, 춤 실력이 월등하기로 소문난 ‘C L’ 에 이르기 까지 탄탄한 실력과 끼로 똘똘 뭉친 신인그룹이다.

이들은 멜론, 엠넷 등 전 온라인 음원 사이트에 디지털 싱글 ‘롤리팝’(Lollipop)을 공개했다. 빅뱅과 함께 부른 이 노래는 각종 음원차트 1위를 싹쓸이했다. 소속사도 예상치 못한 엄청난 인기세다. 5월 데뷔를 앞두고 있는 21은 전초전부터 ‘대박’을 기록한 셈이다.

원더걸스 前 멤버이자 새로운 여성 그룹 멤버로 컴백을 준비 중인 현아도 베일을 벗고 있다. 현아는 4월 초 데뷔한 신예 AJ의 티저 영상에 모습을 드러내며 팬들의 기대감을 높였다. 티저 속 현아는 짧은 시간 출연하지만 더욱 성숙해진 여성미를 뽐내며 등장, 컴백이 가까워졌음을 알렸다. 특히 현아는 자신이 피처링으로 참가한 AJ 곡 ’2009′ 중간 부분에서 “원더걸스”라고 외쳐 화제를 모았다.

원더걸스를 탈퇴하고 연습에 매진했던 현아는 새로운 여성그룹 멤버로 5월 컴백할 계획이다. 소속사 관계자는 “현아가 5월 새 앨범을 들고 가요계로 복귀한다”고 밝혔다. 아직 팀 이름은 정해지지 않은 상태다.

현아는 2007년 2월 원더걸스 멤버로 데뷔, 싱글 ‘더 원더 비긴스’(The Wonder Begins)를 통해 파워풀한 랩과 춤 실력으로 인기를 모았다. 하지만 현아를 괴롭히던 만성장염이 다시 재발하면서 건강상태가 급격히 나빠져 결국 2007년7월 원더걸스를 탈퇴했다. 현아의 빈자리엔 유빈이 후임으로 합류했다.

Also another new girl group is said to debut, by Kim Tae-Hee (Park Ji-Yeon), consisting 5 members which all have different talents. The group had not been known but has been training as a trainee with Mnet Media. The girls have been known for having skills in talented areas such as singing, acting and other various fields.

The new See Ya group (originally 3 members) now consists 5 members. The group is said to debut with the latest single ‘Eternal Love’. SeeYa-5 has already been a hot topic in Korea as it is No.1 on many searching sites.

TARA (Alternative Name for the new Mnet Media 5-Member girl group) has debut as they sung one of the OST for MBC drama ‘The Cinderella Man’. The group has announce that their Official MV will be released on May 26 2009. About 19 pictures of the girl group has been leaked on the internet which has affected pureness and their witty image.

2NE1, the female big bang, has been training with YG Entertainment for 4 years where the girls have been preparing for their debut since last year. About 21 news about the group has been released before their debut which gave the public more anticipation before their release. The group is known to be very promising in 2009 as their album is produced by Big Bang leader G-Dragon.

The news has been also very popular in Phillipines as the news came out, when they had work with very known artists such as Lee Hyori, Spring Park and more. The group is also good in 4 languages, singing, rapping and dancing skills. (?)

‘LOLLIPOP’ has already hitted number one on various internet sites such as Bugs, Mnet, Melon and more. The song has nearly swept all charts in South Korea. The group maybe debut on May 21.

Former Wonder Girls member, Hyun Ah, is preparing to also debut amonngst the other girl groups which will be unveiled. AJ, a new male rookie who debuted in early April released a teaser which showed participation amongst the fans. The teaser showed how mature Hyun Ah has been, but also a new feminine side to her. AJ has also participated in some of 2009′s Wondergirls songs.

The agency has announce that the group will be making its debut plans in May.

Hyun Ah who debuted in February 2007 as a member of the Wonder Girls, lefted the group in July 2007 due to health reasons, and will debut in a new girl group in May. Hyun Ah are known for her rapping and dancing skills
